John and Bev Koser are both long-time VEAP volunteers and donors. This year, they are pleased to once again to take part in the DeBlieck Family Challenge! Hear more from the couple about why they give back to VEAP…
“We go to the grocery story at least once a week. We know a lot of people can’t.
For over 40 years, people have come to VEAP expecting to receive an abundant supply of necessary goods and other services. We want to be able to continue to meet their expectations. That’s why we donate funds and volunteer in the warehouse sorting and stocking produce.
Donations to VEAP make a positive difference for our neighbors because we know VEAP uses funds wisely. They have excellent buying power: each dollar VEAP spends to purchase food results in $7 – $10 dollars of food to supplement the food donations already regularly received from our community.
Funds also provide for the social workers that help visitors meet their needs beyond food, and for the VEAP administrative staff. Of course, the lights and heat and other facility costs need to be funded, too! We’re happy to be able to support VEAP this year as part of the DeBlieck Family Challenge.
VEAP currently has a fundraising goal of $100,000. Will you help us reach it?”
