VEAP has been closely monitoring the recent developments around the coronavirus infection, COVID-19. The health and safety of the communities we serve and the staff and volunteers who support them are our top priority.
VEAP is actively following communications from the CDC and the MN Department of Health. We are also coordinating with other metro-area food pantries and food shelves and engaging in conversations with colleagues and counterparts throughout the state of Minnesota.
Starting on Monday, March 23, we are following a drive-up model for food distribution. Learn more about what to expect under that model.
Our goal is to continue supporting our community in this time of increased need while following proper precautions. To minimize risk, we are taking concrete steps, including the creation of 6-foot demarcations within our Warehouse to ensure proper social distancing, regular cleanings of our facility, proactive education with our volunteers, and readily available alcohol-based hand sanitizers and cleaning wipes.
With the goal of maintaining services, VEAP leadership will be making decisions around our services in the event our current plan shifts. We will keep you informed with the latest developments via email, social media, and on our website. Learn more about how you can help support us during these unprecedented times.
