VEAP is pleased to introduce the newest member of our Advancement team, Casey Gordon! Casey has joined VEAP’s staff to serve in a newly-created role as a Grant Writer.
Casey earned her M.F.A. in creative writing from the City College of New York and spent over a decade working within the City University of New York as a writing instructor. In New York, she volunteered as a reading tutor for the Harlem Educational Activities Fund and for the African American Male Initiative through Children’s Aid Society. Upon moving to Minnesota, Casey decided to dedicate her career to community work and oversaw food and housing justice community partnerships for the University of St. Thomas.
At VEAP, Casey contributes to the growth of the organization and the strength of local communities through researching and writing applications for grants that fund VEAP’s many programs. Casey is thrilled to be able to use her technical skills to carve pathways to basic needs access through her position.
In her free time, Casey paints, plays piano, writes creatively and hangs out with her niece and two nephews.
We are thrilled to have her on board! Welcome, Casey.
