Our opportunities:
- Welcome everyone. All ages and skill sets are needed! Youth ages 16+ are able to volunteer independently. Volunteers ages 10–15 must be accompanied by a registered adult family member who has also completed VEAP’s volunteer registration process.
- Don’t require experience. We’ll provide all necessary training, and make sure you feel confident while serving with us.
- Are fun! With a variety of positions available, we will help you find your best fit.

Here is a list of our Individual Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions:
- Food Pantry: Our pantry roles include creating a positive shopping experience for all by assisting with the shopping process, fulfilling food orders, helping shoppers load their groceries into their vehicles, and sorting through food donations so we can ensure only the best items make it onto our shelves.
- Mobile Pantry Services: Our Van Driver and Mobile Pantry Assistant teams provide Home Delivery, food distribution/drop off at Site Partner facilities (Mobile Sites), and pickup food donations from local area grocery stores (Courier).
- Participant Intake: Our intake roles include scheduling food appointments (Phone) and checking in participants for in-person shopping appointments (Lobby).
- Support Services: Our admin roles currently are helping to manage our reception desk at our volunteer entrance by greeting volunteers, refilling coffee & snacks, and assisting on any administrative projects that may come up.
Getting started volunteering at VEAP is easy! Please create an account in our volunteer portal. To begin, please select one of the following tracks:
- Adults 18+
- Youth 10-17
- Group Volunteering – onsite in our pantry for groups less than 12 people
- Doing Good – pairs a traditional product drive with a volunteer component. This opportunity works for small or large groups and can be held on or offsite. Days, evenings, or weekends.

VEAP conducts annual criminal background checks for all adult volunteers (18+) via the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Certain convictions and false statements will disqualify applicants. VEAP does not accept court-ordered community service.
