Looking for a way to support your community together? Your team can make a difference! We 100% depend on our volunteers in everything that we do. If your group is motivated to serve then join us today in keeping food on our friends’ and neighbors’ tables.

Our opportunities:

  • Welcome everyone! We’d love to host your team for a meaningful and impactful group volunteer event.
  • Don’t require experience. We’ll provide all necessary training, and make sure you and your team feel confident while serving with us.
  • Help build relationships. Our group opportunities are a great way to strengthen bonds and build relationships with one another.
  • Are fun! Our opportunities include volunteering together on site in our Food Pantry, or on special projects for VEAP.
  • Comply with the Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH) current guidelines. Our model ensures the public health and safety for all involved. Learn more about these changes.

For larger groups (more than 10 volunteers), or for information on off-site group volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Department directly at volunteerdept@veap.org

After we receive your registration form we will contact you to coordinate and schedule your group. Please connect with Karen Hancock, Volunteer Manager, with any additional or specific requests at karenh@veap.org. We look forward to hearing from you!

Groups of a variety of sizes can join us at VEAP. The size of your group will depend on the volunteer opportunities available. Groups of 3 to 10 people can volunteer in our onsite Food Pantry and Warehouse area. Groups larger than 10 can join us over multiple shifts in the Food Pantry and Warehouse areas or schedule an evening or weekend activity.

Group volunteer opportunities include sorting food donations and stocking shelves with healthy food, assisting with Mobile Food Pantry distributions, collecting toilet paper and diapers, then repacking at VEAP or your location, and a variety of special projects and more!

Groups can host collection drives for high-demand items such as toilet paper and diapers then repackage into smaller quantities usable for distribution in our Food Pantry. Groups can also collect items for snack packs, breakfast bags, toiletry kits and more. A VEAP representative can join your group to share information about our work and the impact of your collection drive. Please contact our Volunteer Manager, Karen Hancock, at karenh@veap.org or 952.955.2369 to discuss specific details and options.

“When the world seems crazy, I know that I can only do my part, and must do my part. It helps to be involved with something as basic as getting healthy food to those in need. Over the years, I have come to know VEAP as a truly remarkable organization. The solid values of this organization are demonstrated at the highest levels, and throughout our culture. It’s not hard to believe that I am truly making a difference.” -VEAP Volunteer
