Do you need support in paying your heating bills this winter? The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps pay for home heating costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households. VEAP has partnered with Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County to help individuals fill out the Energy Assistance application on-site at our office.
Every Tuesday from 9 AM – 4 PM and Thursday from 10:30 – 4 PM, Hashim from CAP-HC will be on hand to help drop-in visitors fill out their application. We recommend arriving by 3:15 PM. No appointments are necessary; please simply walk-in. Hashim speaks English, Somali, and Kiswahili.
EAP is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Grants are:
- For renters or homeowners
- For households with income at or below 50 percent of the state median income
- Based on energy cost, household size, and income
