Welcome to VEAP’s new Advancement Director

August 30, 2023

VEAP is pleased to announce that after a thorough search, we have hired Tara Broker Lashley as our new Advancement Director! In her role, Tara will be responsible for the management of VEAP’s robust advancement plan including individual, business, and faith-based giving, corporate and foundation grants and sponsorships, special events, community fundraising, planned giving, and external-facing donor engagement and relations.

Throughout her career, Tara has worked in the non-profit sector, specifically with agencies that serve people. She believes that an organization can have the most incredible programs and services, but if they do not have funds coming in the door, those programs and services cannot be provided. Tara has specialized in development for the past 15 years and obtained her CFRE (Certified Fundraising Executive) credentials in 2019. Most recently she was at Jeremiah Program as the Director of Development. Tara also spends her time volunteering as a Girl Scout troop leader to 16 4thgraders and is an active member of her child’s school’s Parent Teacher Organization.

Tara was drawn to the mission and vision of VEAP, and says the services we provide are impactful and life-changing for many individuals. As our Advancement Director, she is pleased to get the honor and privilege of seeing the impact not only for the participants, but for funders and volunteers. She looks forward to digging into people’s “why’s:” Why do they volunteer/donate? Why have they been volunteering/donating for so many years? Why do they light-up when they hear the word VEAP? And so many more!

In her personal life, Tara enjoys being out and about with her two children, visiting coffee shops with friends, planning fun day trips with her family, and taking advantage of the great Minnesota outdoors.

Welcome, Tara, to VEAP!
