VEAP is proud to highlight the outstanding efforts of Thermo King, their Bloomington team, and Trane Technologies, who recently hosted a Doing Good Express Pack event to support local families. In just one day, their dedicated team packed 2,400 Express Packs, helping ensure that VEAP can continue meeting immediate food needs in our community.
Express Packs are an important supplemental option within VEAP’s Food Programs. While all visitors are requested to call ahead and make an appointment, emergencies can happen at any time. In these situations, VEAP provides a pre-packaged bag of food so that individuals and families facing unexpected circumstances do not leave empty-handed. These ready-to-go packs include shelf-stable essentials designed to help households bridge the gap until their next scheduled visit.
The generosity and teamwork of Thermo King and Trane Technologies mean that VEAP now has thousands of Express Packs ready to distribute throughout the remainder of the year. This partnership reflects a strong commitment to building more hopeful, resilient communities—ensuring that no neighbor has to face a food emergency alone. Thank you, Thermo King!
VEAP’s Doing Good initiative is an opportunity for corporate, social, school, religious, and fraternal groups to support VEAP by collecting and purchasing items to pack/repackage for distribution to our food pantry participants. Options include Birthday Bags, Express Packs (to-go packs of food available without appointment to visitors), Street Kits, and Hygiene Kits. This is a great team-building activity for your employees or members!
