Give Us a Call

Give Us a Call

We’re here for you. Call us at 952.888.9616 to make an appointment for the Food Pantry.

At this time we offer in-person pantry shopping indoors on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with a drive-though option on all other weekdays.

Whether you need to visit our Food Pantry or are looking for more resources in your community, your first step is to give us a call at 952-888-9616.  Volunteer operators will gather information and explain VEAP’s programs. They can also set up an appointment for you to visit our Food Pantry. VEAP’s call intake center closes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday – Friday.

Para hablar con alguien en español, llame al 952.888.9616 x 1. Чтобы поговорить с кем-то по-русски, звоните 952.888.9616 x 2. Interpreters can be made available for other languages as well.

Am I eligible?
veap_serviceareaAnyone living in the cities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield and South Minneapolis zip codes of 55410, 55419, and 55417 is welcome to visit us. There are no income guidelines for our food pantry and we will never ask why you’re visiting us.
How often can I access VEAP programs and resources?
For our Food Pantry, visitors are welcome twice a month. During your visit, you will get shelf-stable items (like pasta, cereals, canned goods, etc.) as well as meat, dairy, vegetables, fruit and bread. We also have household items like shampoo, toilet paper, diapers, pet food and more. If you have dietary restrictions, we will try to make every effort to meet your needs. Our inventory is always changing at VEAP, so we cannot promise access to specific items, but we will always try our best to meet your needs.

VEAP’s Mobile Food Pantry is open to everyone! With several convenient sites throughout the Twin Cities, we encourage individuals and families to visit as often as needed. Check our event calendar for current distribution sites and times. Everyone welcome.

What can I expect when visiting VEAP to access food?
VEAP does require that all visitors call us to first make an appointment; however if there is an emergency, we will accept drive-up visitors without an appointment. Prior to the appointment, our phone volunteers will ask some brief questions to determine eligibility, like where you live. When you arrive for your appointment, you will pull around to the back of our building and follow the signs for food pick-up. A volunteer will ask you which items you prefer, and will pass off your list to a personal food shopper. Then you will pull ahead to another door where a volunteer will load your items into your car.

On in-pantry shopping days, please park in the parking lot and walk around to the front of the building to Door 1. A volunteer will check you in and then take you back to the pantry so you can pick your own items. Once you’re done, you’ll pull your car around to the back of our building at Door 4 and we will load all your items into your car.

Is VEAP the same as Hennepin County?
No. While Hennepin County’s South Suburban Hub is located at VEAP, we do not share your personal information nor access case information without your written permission. If you have questions, please contact [email protected]
Is everyone welcome at VEAP?
Yes! We welcome everyone from our community who needs access to use our services. Many of the visitors who use our Food Pantry and Social Services programming are from diverse ethnic, racial and linguistic backgrounds. We make every effort to meet the language needs of our visitors and have staff and volunteers fluent in Spanish, Somali, Russian, Mandarin and other languages. Undocumented individuals are welcome to use all our services. Wherever you are from, you are welcome and belong at VEAP.

We understand.

Volunteers and staff understand that accessing VEAP programs may be a humbling experience.  We will treat you with respect and connect you with the resources that will help you regain stability. In you need extra support, a member of our Social Services team can speak with you about possible financial assistance and other community resources.
