Looking for a way to support your community during these uncertain times? Your team can make a difference! We 100% depend on our volunteers in everything that we do. If your group is healthy, not currently in a high-risk category, and is motivated to serve then join us today in keeping food on our community’s tables.

Our opportunities:

  • Comply with the Minnesota Department of Health’s (MDH) current guidelines. We’ve changed our model to ensure the public health and safety for all involved. Learn more about these changes.
  • Welcome everyone! Kids ages 9-11 are welcome to apply, but must be accompanied by an adult. Youth 12+ are able to volunteer independently.
  • Don’t require experience. We’ll provide all necessary training, and make sure you and your team feel confident while serving with us.
  • Help build relationships. Our group opportunities are a great way to strengthen bonds and build relationships with one another.
  • Are fun! With our current service model, our opportunities include packing high-need items such as toilet paper, diapers, snack packs and other items.

Register your group

After we receive your registration form we will contact you to coordinate and schedule your group. Please connect with Emily Bingham, Volunteer Experience Coordinator, with any additional or specific requests at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign-up my group to volunteer at VEAP?
Please register your group via our website. Once you submit the registration, you will hear from our Volunteer Director, Courtney Flug, about specific opportunities and scheduling options for your group.
How big can groups be to volunteer together at VEAP?
Groups of a variety of sizes can join us at VEAP. The size of your group will depend on the volunteer opportunities available. Small groups of 3 to 5 people can volunteer for a Mobile Food Pantry distribution, delivering food to one of our seven sites. Groups of 3 to 10 people can volunteer in our onsite Food Pantry and Warehouse area. Groups larger than 10 can join us over multiple shifts in the Food Pantry and Warehouse areas or schedule an evening or weekend activity.
What types of volunteer opportunities do you offer for groups?
Group volunteer opportunities include sorting food donations and stocking shelves with healthy food, assisting with Mobile Food Pantry distributions, collecting toilet paper and diapers, then repacking at VEAP or your location, and a variety of special projects and more!
What if my group would like to volunteer at our location?
Groups can host collection drives for high-demand items such as toilet paper and diapers then repackage into smaller quantities usable for distribution in our Food Pantry. Groups can also collect items for snack packs, breakfast bags, toiletry kits and more. A VEAP representative can join your group to share information about our work and the impact of your collection drive. Please contact our Volunteer Director, Courtney Flug, at [email protected] or 952.955.2369 to discuss specific details and options.
What times can groups volunteer at VEAP?
Groups can join us at a number of different times throughout the week depending on the size of your group, activities available and your needs. In general, Mobile Food Pantry distributions are weekdays between 11:30 AM – 3:00 p.m. or 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. In general, Volunteer groups joining us in the warehouse or food pantry can join us weekday afternoons, typically between 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. If your group is joining us for an evening repackaging event, we can coordinate a specific time on Saturday or Sunday or on any weeknight except Thursdays.
Do I need to submit group members’ names?
We will collect group members’ names when they arrive for volunteering.
Can our group have a regular schedule at VEAP?
Yes! Groups can join us weekly, monthly or quarterly. Please contact our Volunteer Director, Courtney Flug, at [email protected] or 952.95.8325 to discuss scheduling options.
Can groups of youth volunteer together at VEAP?

“When the world seems crazy, I know that I can only do my part, and must do my part. It helps to be involved with something as basic as getting healthy food to those in need. Over the years, I have come to know VEAP as a truly remarkable organization. The solid values of this organization are demonstrated at the highest levels, and throughout our culture. It’s not hard to believe that I am truly making a difference.”
